Point & Shoot

My sis is a big Pearl Jam fan, so when the lead singer Eddie Vedder announced a solo show I knew I had little choice but to be her date (suppose that's my payback for taking her to Madonna all those years ago!), and I lve me a man that can captive a whole room on his own.

So I charged camera and hide it in a make up purse, I'm always paranoid it will get taken by security, and headed down to the beautiful Palais Theatre (one of my fav venues).
Being a member of the Pearl Jam TEN club my sis got to purchase her tickets before the general public, but the only thing was she didn't know her seating allocation until she picked up her tickets. This alone caused a small amount of anxiety (and there's the understatement of the year).
I am not telling a lie by saying she was shaking as she opened the envelope with her name on it and found these -

ROW A - FRONT ROW BABY!!!!!!

We made our way down to our seats, still not quite believing that she had scored such ace tickets.
The only disappointment was the ushered had told us no photos recording devices etc, normally I would still try to take a couple of sneaky photos, but being right in front of the artist in such a small venue and a security guard less than a metre from you, well it was a little intimidating and I wasn't going to chance getting kicked out.
Until the second encore at least.....

Sorry Eddie but I had to do it!

Oh and did I mention as the guitar tech was setting up I caught his eye and he threw me a pick

SCORE!!!!!

So I apologise if my point and shoot is a bit of gloating this week, but I was so excited for my sis that I had to share, and it was either this or photos of the polystyrene Sadie entertained herself with while I attempted to put a bookshelf together and cleaning it up was painful enough.

I walked into Sadie's room this morning to put some clothes away and felt like I had walked into a pretty intense discussion (or some bedroom bullying!).

Or maybe I've just watched Toy Story a few times too many......

RIP

R.I.P. beautiful beautiful Elizabeth Taylor

She seemed to be one of those people that would be around forever.
Sadly, not so.
Shine on you beautiful diamond

Taylor "leaves a monumental legacy that has improved and extended millions of lives and will enrich countless more for generations to come," said the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). Taylor was the group's founding international chairwoman.

I've been wanting a push bike for some time now.
like the kind that kids ride.

Being as clumsy as I am though that bike hasn't been that high on my wish list.

Until now.

This helmet is now high on my wish list, right next to that bike.

point & shoot: A place where nobody dared to go

Crazy busy looking for some cheap rollerskates on ebay

as a result of seeing Xanadu The Musical on Saturday.
It wasn't quite what I expected, but was pretty FABULOUS regardless.

I couldn't resist adding the toilet sign for this weeks point and shoot,
although it's NO WHERE near as exciting as Chantelle's post!!

Poor Suri

So I think the scrutiny that surrounds pretty much everything that Suri Cruise does is a little unfair
BUT
when I saw this on Kidspot I couldn't keep it to myself.

Me thinks Daddy Cruise needs to find a new hiding spot.

Point and Shoot: Da DA Da DAaaaa

For point and shoot this week I wanted to share this beautiful union I witnessed on Saturday.

I really could use every cliche in the book for these guys, but honestly they really were made for each. They totally adore each other and you could hear the collective sigh as they sat down before their vows and he took her arm and kissed her hand as they were whispering into each others ears.
Definitely a case of the princess marrying her Prince Charming.

I managed to steal the bride away from her dotting husband for more than three seconds, just.
And you couldn't wipe that smile of her face, as despite a small hiccup in the morning everything had gone to plan.
Sometimes fairytales do come true.

Pick A Day

So today is Pancake Tuesday, officially known as Shrove Tuesday, and also International Women's Day. I was up too late to make pancakes and today was a work day so that was out.
I choose to celebrate International Women's Day instead, which involved my sis and I both wagging work and going on a date. How's that for liberating.

We had both had a tough couple of days and Sadie would have been with her nanny and poppy regardless so there was no time like the present!

Watched: No Strings Attached - cute, didn't require too much concentration - perfect

I gotta say i doubt there will be a time that he'll be borrowing Natalie Portman's Oscar duster, but all the same Ashton Kutcher is pretty adorable

Ate: Rice Paper Rolls - I really have to start making these at home, I'm sure they're much easier than sushi. I vow here and now that I will make these at home in the next week!

Brought: MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipglass  100% of my purchase going to the MAC AIDS fund so that is surely a guilt free purchase and my contribution to the movement.

Realised: That I probably spend the same amount of money that i probably would have earned had I gone to work, but you know what, SHIT HAPPENS xoxo

So lovely people I wish you a happy International Women's Day and if you didn't get the chance to do it today, take the time to celebrate tomorrow. Hey why don't you even pull a sickie and treat yourself to a day out. And if you get stuck tell 'em you did it on Dr. Bel's orders!

Just Breathe

Yes I understand that every life must end,
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go,
I'm a lucky man to count on both hands
The ones I love.....

Some folks just have one,
Others they have none,,,

Stay with me,..
Let’s just breathe.
(lyrics- Eddie Vedder sentiment - me}

Happy Birthday mofo.
Miss you as much today, as yesterday and tomorrow.

Point and shoot

After a week of restless nights and an ear infection, Nutella Sprinkle pancakes were definitely called for on Saturday morning.

And after spending most of the week indoors, we were loving the light of the Autumn sun.
