Remember last week I mentioned we were preparing for a big day of haircuts and Santa photos.
No dramas on the haircut front

Santa photos on the other hand -

Suppose that's another good one for the 21st wall!

THE wedding sneak peek

I'm hoping tomorrow is Christmas morning for Nicole Richie fans, not sure if Who or OK have the wedding pics, but I literally gasped when I saw this preview of their wedding photos.

Apparently she wore three dresses, can't wait to see the other two.
I also read they had shopped around for the highest bidders for the wedding snaps, not to pocket the money for themselves but to up the dollars that would go to the Richie-Madden foundation. Good on them!!!

While we are on the topic of weddings how stunning is the official Wills and Kate engagement photo. Shot by Mario Testino none the less.

Must be nice to have friends in high places.

Splitsville

Geez what's wrong with these people, breaking up before Christmas???

While the split of Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens means that I totally have  chance with Zac.

It was a little sad to hear about Megan Gale and Andy Lee's split this morning.
The statement they realised to the media was awesome though.

In October, Andy and Megan parted ways. They remain great friends and both think the world of each other," a statement from the pair said.
"Rumours that Megan was seen kissing Liz Hurley in a glass elevator are false and for those concerned, don't worry as Andy managed to secure Hamish in the split."

POINT AND SHOOT : Whoooo we're half way there

Oh yeah, there I was amongst 49,999 others and Jon was singing to me, just me!

I've been trying to remember how many times I have seen Bon Jovi.
It's 8 or 9, either way the band just get better with age. They done give away many clues that these guys, if not already there, are all approaching their 50's.
Jon works the stage like few others can, and man can he work the crowd into a frenzy with a quick flash of his, very shiny, pearly whites.
Love him or hate him you can not deny this man is hot, oh I mean a born entertainer. Two and a half hours of non stop entertaining left me with sore feet and a sore throat but I wish I could do it all again.

*** I have admit the photo there of my boyfriend wasn't taken by me, one of my friends paid a ridiculous amount of money for tickets and was fairly close but the first one is from my phone so I guess that's my official point and shoot.

As a footnote I might add here that I have been sulking around for the past few days because my bestie called me yesterday and had found us tickets to see them again in Sydney on Friday night. I tried (really freakin hard) to justify spending money I don't have to go but I just couldn't do it. Don't you hate when you can hear the little Homer angel on your shoulder louder than the devil!!!! So anyway as I said I've been sulking, "Veruca Salt" style until the news brought me a big arse reality slap.

If you're feeling sorry for yourself or feel hard done by grab some tissues and read this story

Just makes me thankful for what I have xo

A christmas list addition

I know, I know, I know. I already have a Fuji instax mini but I want   NEED the wide version.

In fact I could probably make a list longer than my arm from the photojojo shop alone.

Like this,  this, or these just for starters.

And while I'm in Veruca mode, I've been banging on for years about wanting to learn how to use photoshop, so I'd love photoshop for my mac and lessons to go with it.

Ummmm that's all

otherwise I'll start getting practical and I really need some new flats and undies as well.

Bon Jovi fever has swept over this household.
2 more sleeps until i see my long time love. I'm a bit excited.
Bogan rock or not, I love Bon Jovi, unashamedly.

They provided the soundtrack to my adolescent life (and beyond).
I've seen them play every Australain tour, with the exception of one, and I've travelled interstate to see them. If I had the time and money I would do it again and again.

I remember screaming the words to "I'll Be There for You" at the top of my lungs, trying to loose my voice (that's when Demi Moore was in her prime and husky voices were longed for).
I remember being broken hearted when Jon married his childhood love and I remeber when the "Always" video came out, debating with people over who was the hottest between Jon Bon Jovi and the actor in the video clip.

The Slippery When Wet tour was my first "unsupervised" concert.

I went with my sister and a friend from school, one of the ones that you loose touch with but always refer to by using their whole name.
Much to my embarrassment (at the time), we were dropped off and picked up at the door by my parents and I was given stern words and was told to make sure my lil sis was beside me at  ALL times. I wrote Bon Jovi all over my runners and make a leather cuff in one of my classes at school with JON stamped on it. (I probably even thought he would see it!!!).

And while the years have passed and I have stopped vandalizing my footwear my love for Bon Jovi has never ended and the memories have continued. My first concert date with P was when Bon Jovi did a one off  charity show in Melbourne and when one of my closest friends played the Rumba tour we had loads of fun sneaking around trying to "run into" Jon or Richie. So excuse me while I indulge and leave you with a magical Jon Bon Jovi moment -

Hello Santa

We have such a big day ahead of us. Our usual swimming lesson will be followed by Sadie's first ever haircut and then this years Santa photos.

I'm sure the haircut will go OK but we'll see if little miss will actually sit with Santa this year.

2008 was easy, at about 6 weeks old, she had practically no idea who the fat man with the beard was.

Last year the Santa was fun to wave at from behind the fence, but mamma had to sit in to get the photo done

and Dad's attempt, well I'm sure this would make funniest home video if there was a photo section

Sadie is much more aware of Christmas this year and gets exited when she sees decorations everywhere, i still don't know if she'll sit on Santa's knee though.

Best I make myself a bit presentable, i predict I'll be getting my Santa photo this year again.

Dear Santa

I love a good wish list.
I know some people are strongly opposed to wish lists and gift registries, but my thinking is if people are spending their hard earned cash, put it to something that is wanted or needed. I would rather someone spend $20 on something I want, than waste $100 on something that will be put aside and never used.

I ALWAYS have a list.
It's topped by a Chanel 2.55 handbag  (black with silver hardware incase you were wondering) but I'm pretty sure I haven't been good enough for Santa to whip on of those out.

I'm a bit late this year compiling my Christmas list though.
Usually I have a list longer than my arm full of extravagant items with a few realistic things, but I'm having trouble this year. Most things are too extravagant, I don't have the space for or just feel insignificant in the scheme of things.

But  for those that keep asking (love you lil sis) heres a couple of suggestions:

I get the clue that my Alexander McQueen cape is out of the question.
A classic silk scarf and the collectable book are probably a bit over budget as well so I'd be more than happy to receive this Alexander Mc Queen book.

I still have a Holga and a(pink)  Diana F on the list

I don't know if I actually need a digital radio, but I love the look of these pink Roberts digital radios

Some stocking fillers
just discoverd the Absolut tribute to the rainbow flag, so of course I need that too

That's all I can come up with. Seriously.
It probably doesn't help that I've brought a couple of presents for myself.

(House of Harlow sunnies on pre order and a specially made adult size Little Lamb bracelet.
I'll do a show and tell when I get them both)

Point and shoot:

Messed up plans, BBQ's, catch ups, cleaning and tree decorating.
And there goes another weekend, just like that.

and just because I couldn't pick our pretty Christmas tree over some pretty flowers, here's a double point and shoot for this warm Monday morn.
Oh peonies how I love you so.

Sadie's first ever super fabulous celebrity meet

OK so he may not be high on most people's radar's but I LOVE Johnny Weir.
It was the winter Olympics this year where he first caught my eye

I love me a bit of fabulous and quickly became a fan. Following him on twitter and facebook, which is where I found he was coming to Australia. I knew I HAD to see him skate. Let me just state her I'm not a skating fan, but anything with a bit of drama and showmanship, I'm all over.

So when the man of the house managed to organise some tickets for us I was more than a bit excited  so along with my sister and nieces we all headed down to the Icehouse for the Christmas skating spectacular. I wish I could tell you the show was spectacular -  it was random and lame, but the little kids loved it.
Then out came Johnny

OMG

His first skate was to Bad Romance, I missed part of it as I was trying to fix my lens as I juggled Sadie on my knee, he followed this with Ave Maria and then an interview with Eddie
Seeing him skate was amazing and inspiring. So graceful.
He made jumping and spinning across the ice seem so easy and natural.
What I didn't expect was

to actually him for him to be so gracious and well UNREAL

and when I asked if it would be OK if he could be Sadie's first celebrity photo he said it would be my honour and paid full attention to her.

I'm so looking forward to his book coming out in Jan (woo hoo birthday present peeps).
If you ever come across the doco titled Johnny Weir: Pop Star On Ice watch it and you may just understand why I love him so.
I usually get a little sad when another year passes by but I really am looking forward to crossing December 31st off the calendar and welcoming 2011.
2010 has been a shit of a year and I'll be glad once it's over.
I'm not really big on resolutions but I'm hoping for some changes in 2011.

The first would be that we are able to buy a new house where we are currently living. The house we are renting is in a fantastic location but it's tiny and has no storage space at all. I keep repeating my little "location, location, location" mantra but all I want to do is put shelves on every wall. I don't think these old plaster walls would even hold a picture hook.

While I'm not planning for my little cake and sweets business to takeover the world
,just yet, I am hoping it will be successful enough for me to give up my part time job. I'm sure lots of people dream about working from home I hope this allows me to. I'mtravelling 45 mins each way to work, so crazy for a casual job but I like the people I work with. While I'm contemplating looking for something closer to home, It's not easy when there are only certain hours I can work, so we'll see what happens there.

I'm also hoping we can manage to squeeze in a trip overseas before we think about adding to the family. I would love to take Sadie to Disneyland. I've never been so it would be awesome to experience with her at such an excitable age.

And of course I hope for health and happiness in 2011. Life seems to have picked up pace in the last few months and I feel like I'm in a constant state of sleep deprivation. So some relaxation and rejuvenation are definitely o the cards for 2011.
Before I get to relax and revive I must get through some of my growing TO DO list. Wish me luck.
