Mother's Day

With only a couple of weeks to go I guess it's about time I updated my wishlist. I started "pinning" like crazy and thought I'd share a few of my favourites here.

I've had my eye on the Clarisonic Mia for a while, have read so many good reviews and my skin could do with a little pep up

Sure this McQueen is a bit pricey, but cashmere is an investment isn't it?

I love Tori Spelling and I love parties so this book was positively made for me

and this would be a fun addition to my wrist party

oh and speaking of additions, Harry could always do with a friend.

Now I just wish my mum would make a wish list to make my life easier,
at least there's bound to be a new Danielle Steel book out........

That's Pinteresting

When I first discovered Pinterest, it was worse than the rabbit hole of blog land.
I would sit for hours pinning things I would do, make, wear.
And then I would keep pinning and pinning and pinning.

I decided that if I was going to keep this addiction up, I needed
to slow down with the pinning and start doing.

I have been intending to do spray painted animal jars forever,
Easter seemed like the perfect time to turn my pinning into something real.

How cute is this little guy?
A bit of glue, a bit of paint and.....
WA LA!!!

I think this little guy needs some friends.
With glitter!!!
The possibilities are endless

One Thing

In an effort to maintain “Coolest Aunty EVER” title, I did what any self-respecting Aunt to a tween would do.

Purchased ONE DIRECTION tickets.
To Brisbane!!!!

We didn't anticipate Melbourne selling out and after trying to get onto ticketek's website for
over half an hour, with the pending ticket purchase adrenaline still pumping through my veins,
I took a chance and got lucky when the Brizzy tickets went on sale an hour later.
The problem was my sis had commitments the day of the show, so I was "forced" to accompany
Miss J on an overnight adventure. Tough break!!!

I was ready to write One Direction off as a manufactured band of pretty boys who probably had little talent.
Then I watched a few appearances they did and I happened to get my hands on the season of X-Factor from which they were formed. BANG I was in hook line and sinker.

Friends may have threatened to disown me, but my little pop heart was over the moon.

So how was it?

I've been to a lot of shows over the years and I can honestly say I have never, ever heard a crowd so loud.
The atmosphere was incredible. We walked into the convention centre around the same time as the Nova crew and they got mobbed. There were tears and there was  lot of money made at the merchandise stand!
It was fun and the boys were amazing. The played pretty much the whole album and some really good covers, like Kings Of Leon's Use Somebody.

Haters are gonna hate, but I loudly and proudly declare
I LOVE ONE DIRECTION!!!!

And we love the new addition to our family
Welcome Harry

With next years shows going on sale this week, best I bust open that money box
and start counting my pennies.

Good stuff on the box

How good is TV at the moment?

I try not to get sucked into new TV shows, I can rarely commit to them but so far
this year, I've loved Homeland, obsessed over Revenge and now The Voice.

Joel is as awesome as ever and Keith what a sweet heart.
How would you not melt when he asks  "What's your name baby?"
Swoon.

If only I could sing...........

bye bye holidays

So that's it school holidays done and dusted.
We watched movies, went swimming and got arty.

Sugar-fest 2012, formally known as Easter, kicked off with an egg hunt at nanny and poppy's.

Doesn't matter how many times you tell people to chill with the eggs, this 3 year old still ended up with enough chocolate for a years supply, luckily the babydaddy has a sweet tooth.

The extra energy from the chocolate came in handy, my little daredevil
wrapped up the Easter weekend showing of her steering skills

and made some new friends.

Sometimes it scares me a little at how fearless this kid is.

Will be good to get back to some sort of routine although I have a crazy week ahead,
which involves baking 100 cupcakes, doing wedding photos (which I'm so bloody
nervous about), and ummm flying to Brisbane and allowing my inner 14 year old to
scream to her hearts content. Stay tuned........

Girl crush

Slowly, slowly Emma Stone has been moving her way up my girl crush list.
I'll always find room in my heart for a cute redheaded actress

Especially when she has such good taste

At the SAG awards in McQueen

Still gorgeous as a blonde and (despite the colour) I love this dress.

I'm yet to see her in a movie I didn't like love!

And well let's face it

May the odds be ever in your favour

This could not be more true.

Although I obviously didn't think  about the kind of crowd that would be at a
6.45 pm session of The Hunger Games on a Friday night, in general half my age,
I did dig the fact that I could walk into the cinema and enjoy a little bottle of vino to myself
and then not have to wait outside the freezing cinema for the folks to pick me up.

Have you read the books?
I devoured the three in a week over the Christmas holidays and whilst reading
I was Team Gale but after seeing the movie I think I may be leaning towards Team Peta.

Yep that's me contemplating the important things in life!!!!

K25 A walk down memory lane

Using a hairbrush microphone and dancing The Locomotion in the mirror

Wishing I was singing Especially For You wrapped in Jason Donovan's embrace
(oh yes i just publicly admitted that!)

Camping out for concert tickets

Having plenty of time, while waiting in line for hours to meet the lady and get my book signed, to think of something memorable to say to her and blubbering "your so beautiful" (genius!)

Walking the streets of Chelsea while living in London in the hopes that I would
casually bump into her (and imagining we would become life long friends based on the fact that we were both Melbournians).

Taking my niece to her first (second and third) Kylie concerts

Crying at her triumphant  Showgirl Homecoming tour after the cancer battle

Feeling like my boobs may explode because I'd left a six week old baby
at home to go to the KylieX2008 show.

Oh the list goes on, sure they may not be defining life moments but Miss Kylie Minogue has been a constant in my life, even when it wasn't cool to be a fan.

Never have I been so excited to stand in a smelly back alley as I was
on Sunday as I waited for Kylie's Anti Tour.

No dancers, no costume changes and no hits. It was B-sides and rarities and it was BRILLIANT!!

I can't wait to see what else she has in store for K25, but the anti-tour sure will be hard to top

Revenge

After being house ridden for the past week with a back injury, I'll be glad
to get back into the real world today and out of the Hamptons.

While recuperating I got stuck into Revenge, to the point that last night after watching
16 episodes over the weekend, I was dreaming about the characters.
I haven't been this obsessed with a TV series in a long time.
If you love a good drama and a bit of over-acting I highly suggest you
jump onto itunes and play catch up

That guy

I believe sharing is caring and because I know a few of y'all get a little hot under the
collar at the mere mention of the words Ryan Gosling, I thought you
might like a squiz at these to start the weekend off on the right step.

This open letter to Mr Gosling is probably my favourite.
I swear Megan O'Keefe was reading my mind

Then there's

and possibly my favourite

just incase you haven't had enough

as this is now my personal reference point for all things G-man I'm just going to keep adding

Rainy Days, Lazy Days

It was hard to remember, after looking out the window this morning, that it was less than a week ago that we were sweltering in the last of the summer heat.

Today's goal was to keep the rainy day boredom at bay.

We played Hide & Seek.

Although this usually lasts all of ten minutes because either the little chic can't find me
and gets into a panic or by round 2 she tells me she doesn't know where to hide
and can't quite grasp the fact that if I tell her where to hide I'll know where she is!!!!

Passed sometime drawing

followed by making lunch
(with a little bit of cheek!)

Cheesymite scrolls (or mighty mights as they are known here) are always
popular lunch choice in these parts so I thought I'd finally attempt
them at home using THIS recipe from taste.com

Waiting for them to cool down was the hardest part.
YUMMMY IN MY TUMMY!!!!

* Now considering I started writing this at lunch time on Thursday and am now
publishing it on Friday morning, I guess we managed to skip the boredom.

But what next?
